The Quartz Hill Little League 12-and-under All-Stars players and coaches celebrate with their banner after winning the District 51 championship on Saturday at Quartz Hill Little League.

The Quartz Hill Little League 12-and-under All-Stars won the District 51 title on Saturday and will represent the district at the State Tournament.

Quartz Hill rebounded from an 8-4 loss to Palmdale in the championship bracket to defeat Palmdale in two championship games in the double-elimination tournament, which was held on the Quartz Hill Little League field.

Quartz Hill won the first championship game 14-4 on Friday and followed with a 12-2 victory on Saturday.

Quartz Hill started the tournament on June 15 with a 21-1 victory over Tehachapi. In its second game on June 18, Quartz Hill lost to Palmdale and moved into the bottom half of the bracket. Quartz Hill then posted a 17-2 win over Rosamond to get to the championship series.

The Quartz Hill All-Stars are coaches by Tashina Myers, Justin Myers and Ralph Ortiz.

The players include: Ariana Flores, Alyssa Gonzalez, Paige Hart, Anderson Jenison, Sienna Livesay, Braelyn Myers, Ruby Obarr, Soleil Rios, Rachel Saucedo, Alexa Taisacan, Haylee Thompson, Lindsey Velasquez and Mackenzee Wharton.

The State Tournament begins with pool play on Monday and will be hosted by District 17 at Almansor Park in Alhambra and San Marino High School in San Marino.

Quartz Hill begins play in Pool B against South Bay (District 42) on Monday at Almansor Park. Bracket play in the tournament begins on July 6.

The State Tournament winner will move on to the Western Region Tournament, July 19-25, in San Bernardino. The winner of that tournament qualifies for the Little League World Series, Aug. 4-11, in Greenville, North Carolina.
